Issues while removing front counter weight

So while doing my teardown on a s4tii. When removing the front counter weight it was a struggle to remove. Had to use a pry bar most of the way to get it off.

My friend said usually it should just slide right up off the shaft pretty easy. But I wanted to check on here first. Is there any issue if it was kind of hard to remove the front counterweight?

If you take the key out before the countreweight, it should be easy. If you leave the key in then it can be a pain.

At least thats what I noticed when I was putting my front stack on my rebuild.

If you took the key out, the front counter weight should be able to spin freely.

Then grab around the bottom of the front counter weight and turn it while pulling up.
