as a donkey, a few hours later of buying my Rx i've filled in the engine oil compartment with water, i've allready swaped a head gasket and a clutch drive plate in a four cylinder engine, i have a course of mechanic, not availed, yes, i could never mistake a oil simbol with a water one and untill today i don't know how i've done it. Engine washed, new oil, running smooth again... a cylinder colapsed, it has to be repaired, yes it's possible to repair the same cylinder, parts ordered, waiting for the mechanic (not me) to come to my garage-workshop to do it, from Mazda. I was going to do it myself but it would possibly overcome me, it would be easy...

he didn't make fun, he was explaining me what do you understand by hardtop, as roof of a house and that this engine doesn't have cylinders but rotors, by the way imagine the roof of the vehicle... it's tissue and i was looking for a fiber one.

 

Oh, you have a convertible RX-7! Hardtop is the correct word. I was confused because no American turbo RX-7 was available as a convertible.

Unfortunately, there is no hardtop available for the convertible RX-7. Only fabric is available.

have any pictures of your car that you would like to share? are you saying that you have lost compression in the engine?

If you have lost compression for a rotor you would probably be better off letting a professional repair it this time. Once you're more familiar with the engine you could give a rebuild a try but if you are able to watch the mechanic do it this time you'll have a good basic understanding to work with in the future.

The tolerances are pretty tight from what I hear when rebuilding, it's not hard to do it wrong and cause more damage. So I suggest watching the first time. But who knows, you might very well be able to do it with help and patience the first time around, with some luck.
