Intrest in Custom Aerodynamics Underbelley Tray?

I know this was a stock piece for most of our cars, but most of them are missing or gone, or broken.
Mine Sure is, and because of this, I am going to build a custom one out of Alum. and also tie it into my custom front mount intercooler-condenser-oil cooler- radiator ducting. This way the air has to follow a certain path, the same goes for the drag co-efficient will be reduced (increasing Gas millage) as well as stability of the overall car at speeds.
how many of you would be interested in one of these? I am going to build one for my car regardless, but If there is enough intrest I will make a template so that it can be duplicated, but making a template costs money and if there isn't enough intrest I will save that money for something else.
Thanks.
EDIT: Well for some reason my Pole Did Not Show up... so Please just Post whether you would like to see one, or if you would like to see something specific to this.

Is this the aero aluminum panel the goes around the oil pan and found on the 86-87 Sport, 88 GTU and 88 Turbo?

Or just the radiator/lower engine cover??

It is the aero Aluminium Panel that goes arround the oil pan, as well as optional ducting for those who have FMIC,s and for those who no longer have the stock ducting for the oil cooler condenser and radiator.... this will help to keep the temps down.

As for cost it would depend on how much I can get materials for.

I'm interested. How's the suspension feel BTW?

before you go ape nutz on this, remember, underbelley pans also affect downforce. a smooth pan will reduce downforce i believe. there was some type of science to it.

Serious question: at what speed does this become an issue? I think the cooling factors of a proper under-belly pan would out-weigh the aerodynamic aspect.

Well it seems that I should go ahead and make a template then.
As for the suspension, the struts/shocks alogn witht he rest is AWSOME. all though I have a clunk in the rear (most likely diff mounts) to take car of but other than that... the Car feels better and faster than ever.

Lol... thank you for your concern But I have studied Aerodynamics, last semester... and I have a fairly good Grasp of the concepts
Now it will not be flat it will be concave louvered to help disipate heat and create a High pressure area in the engine bay, and low pressure under the plate... there will also be a wind tunner effect helping to flow new fresh air through the engine bay. to help keep stuff cool.

This question is based on MANY factors, like ride height, Road conditions... etc... but usually down force or distubtion of such occurs arround 100mph so that it would be noticible.

i'd probably be interested in one. post pics of yours when you're done. i made one from an aluminum sheet but it's kinda ghetto.

i must have bad aerodynamics then because my under belly-pan is flat and i don't have a spoiler.

Wait, so you took ONE aerodynamic class last semester, and now you already have a firm grasp over all the material, and can now produce aerodynamic products with all of the engineering aspects having done all the calculations? If you're just making a copy of the stock peice, that's one thing, but if you're designing you're own, with one semester of schooling in aerodynamics, with no wind tunnel testing, than there isn't much that prooves that it will work. I realize I am one of a very few people on here who actually considers things like this but for me it would have to be addressed. So for the rest of you, if this isn't your concern than please carry on, and make your own decisions based upon what you value.

No... I have not taken only one semester in aerodynamics... And as I am sure you know that university has many classes in one.. like when you take math in university you take one class at a time.
And not this will not be engineered, or calculated mathematically, and wind-tunnel tested... because frankly, I don't think people are willing to pay 500-1000 Bux a pop!
But I will apply simple theories, and principles into my design... so that it will be affective... now I am open to constructive critisism... but you just assumed.
But I must ask SnowmanSteiner, how many semesters of Schooling in aerodynamics do you have?

No I just went off of what was said. You said I have studied Aerodynamics, last semester. That's one semester. I'm in my fourth semester of Aerodynamics by the way.

Before you guys rag on jreynish, what do you REALLY expect to happen here? You're going to get a very minor change in anything. The stock peice reduces the CD by 0.01 and ensures that air goes through the rad. It's not rocket science to produce a very basic peice that will do the job jreynish is describing.

Yes, this is a GREAT idea. If you can fab one up that does the same job as stock, except its a nice aluminum finish, I will defenitly take one. If your gonna make one, make it a bolt in, with bolt holes already in place for easy installation. Man that would be ******* nice.

my point exactly... i wasn't going to spends hours of calculations... etc

That was the plan... but i will have to see exactly what can be done.

Go for it Mr. Reynish, I'll pick one up if I don't end up fabricating my own before then.

Like I said in my very first post, I was wanting to know this information for MY purposes only, I never tried to rag on you, I was only trying to get the question that I asked answered. I even said that other people shouldn't take my post into consideration if they are not worried about that, or if they have their priorities set in a different order than I do. I repeat what I said in my first post, the question was asked for my purposes, not to rag on anyone.
