Intmnt fast Idle
I have a NA 91 Vert. Sometimes the fast idle works fine when i start the car, and then after 30 second it drops from 2k down to 1k then down to 500RPM when warm.
Other times it just starts and sputters around 500RPM, I have to hold down the gas at 2K for a minute to get the car warmed up. Also when it is warmed up then it will idle rough, and act like it is going to stall when any load is applied, like lights, or blower motor for HVAC. For the times that the car actually kicks in the fast idle, then drops down to normal idle i don't have the stall problem.
Any Ideas? I have not ever worked on the motor, cause I have always had BB V8's, this is my first rotary, and it seems difficult to find space to work in the engine comp, I will attempt to change out the plugs and wires soon, sine it seems like it is not as powerfull as it once was.
Thanks.

Fast idle on a NORMAL car is controlled by the throttle body water thermowax working in conjunction with the fast idle cam and cam roller's roll pin. It sounds like yours is out of adjustment or the water thermowax is getting bad???
See the Fuel section for adjustment.
The accelerated warmup that lasts for 17seconds and causes the rpms to rise to approx 3000 is the one that can be overcome by putting the car in gear. The fast idle is not controlled by putting the car in gear.
