Unhappy Internal Oil Leak

I am hoping to get some suggestion from experts on this forum for an internal oil leak. I looked thru all the folders and archives to see discussion on this problem but was unable to find any.

To summarize I have a leak from the dash on drivers side. It is a slow leak and I am unable to zero-in. Now my question is:

1. Is the oil pressure sensing line a pressurized line to the oil gage?

2. If so does this have to be replaced as a unit?

3. Can the line be replaced by itself?

4. can the oil pressure gage be replaced by itself from the cluster gage??

Thanks,

21r

The sending unit is electronic and would not leak oil into the cabin. If you drive a manual, I bet it's your clutch master cylinder leaking through the firewall and past the pedals.

It might also be transmission gear oil "wicking" up the speedometer cable from a bad seal at the transmission end of the cable. My N/A had the same problem. Replaced the cable and it was fixed.

That would be my guess too.

Thanks, guys for the quick response. I am more inclined to believe scrips7's theory since the drip is from the dash. The dash is somewhat oily and drips vertically down. I will certainly check the speedometer cable and report back.

Thanks,
