Intermittent power loss!

Alrighty here it goes... I have intermittent power loss.. I have fine fuel pressure spark seems to be rather... electrifing and well it still has intermittent power loss.. Its noticeable when high loads are on the motor(full throttle 3 gear and up most noticeable) I have an 88 rx and converted over to an 89 to 91 intake manifold... Ive checked for vacuum leaks and all. I removed the fuel pulsation dampner and replaced it with a banjo fitting. I checked the fuel presure to see maybe if the fuel pump was letting off excess pulsations... well it hung right at about 38 to 40 psi..(my motor only pulls 11lbs of vacuum) when you full throttle it it goes to about 50 psi but the needle moves gradually and doesnt jump.... I was thinking maybe some sort of misfire not but i had an msd box on it for a while and still did it. I tested my emissions at school and i have approx 3000 hydrocarbons at idle and it drops to about 250 to 500 under constand throttle...(NO CATALYIST ON THIS CAR) to plugs indicate the fuel mixture is burning well. IDEA's ANYONE?

Secondary throttle butterflies may be sticking shut. Pretty common. If you search for "stuck secondaries" you should find some solutions.

when you say 'power loss' do you mean power loss as in things just dont happen as quickly... or power loss as though you've just pulled your foot off the throttle in a hurry and the car jerks around?
