what is fuel cut

i did a search and i couldnt find any good explanations. i have a basic idea of what it is, but could anyone explain how it works in depth? if i am overboosting, will fuel cut stop me from detonating even if i keep the throttle open? also, on a different matter, does a haltech or power fc come with everything you need to control boost? or will you also have to buy a seperate controller?

Fuel cut is bad. It is when fuel is totally cut off, I believe around 8.5psi for a S4, not sure about a S5.

No its not good. It causes you to lean out. That = bad under higher hp applications. Doing it a few times under stock conditions, you probably wont damage anything.

What accually is happening is all the fuel is shut off to the rear rotor. A haltech will control boost but a seperate boost controller works. You also need to buy a seperate module to control boost with haltech.

A boost controller will not allow you to lower boost, only increase it.

You need to either de-mod your engine to lower boost, or get a fuel cut defender and fuel mods.

Fuel cut is BAD, and will kill your engine.

I have hit fuel cut 6 times so far until today. I would let off every time as fast as possible when i felt it cut/hesitate. Today i turned my fcd down to clamp at 3.59V instead of 3.7V and no more fuel cut. Im lucky my car survived it even 6 times from what i hear tho.
