Arrow Intermittent No Start...Update #38....

OK....the ground was not it...she did not fire up this morning...I did however notice a little seepage of gas around the Pulsation Damper but cant figure how this could cause this unless it was sucking air and somehow vapor locking the system...
I switched the main EGI fuses and that is not the problem...(didn't think it was, but trying everything)
swithced (from other RX) main injector relay...that wasnt it...
I'm wondering if there could be some wiring challenge in the in tank module ?

How was the voltage to the pump during the no-start? Since we KNOW that the pump ground is good now, it's time to move back to the front of the car...

Please don't let the PD burn down the car...

I guess now is a good time to pull that UIM off, and while changing the PD, take a good luck at all your fuel hose up there, injector grommets & o-rings, air bleeds, etc...

Still got some new fuel hose? You're gonna need it for the top of the engine runs

Yep...I already called the dealer for gaskets and they said the O-rings for the injectors are $15 each...that dont sound right...and what about the banjo bolt mod for the PD and what else up front,,,the voltage is 9-10 on cranking...

Yeah, that $15 ain't right, try the Mazdatrix website (they even have pictures!)

Have you ever gotten down to that area of the engine?
If not, I'll make a list of parts for ya, so everything will be "as new" when you're done...

I can't wait for post number fifty three where you have a fuel pressure gauge installed and tell us what the rail pressure was. humor

Heh Heh....Hailers...always appreciate some humor and I need it with this project...
Wayne, a parts list would be great....
could the problem still perhaps lie in the AFM?
Maybe the diaphragm in the PD is loose and blocking the fuel flow from time to time...but its at the end of the secondary fuel rail...that being true she would run fer a minute then shut down...
anything else electrical up front to check ?

Yeh, me too (we already talked about that)

Check it out- we've been over the entire fuel pump circuit now, everything is acting as it should, the relay, the pump (he's put three different ones in), he made a new pump ground (just in case), he's changed the FPR, the under-car fuel hose run, and he's getting voltage at the pump when she "no-starts", but no pressure in the hose at the filter outlet...Bunch of other things have been checked also...And she only "no-starts" when cold, never warm...This one's a doozy...

I'll get you a list & PM ya, as soon as things settle down at work here...

If the AFM was bad, you wouldn't be getting voltage at the pump (or, she would start, then die)

The PD is at the FRONT of the flow circuit, not the secondary rail, so that definetly will be the next thing we check...

Gotta go for now, boroscope time...
