nope...no drying...dont know why. Seems to have been a ground problem on the fuel pump circuit

Well, ground number 25 does more in life than be a ground for the fuel pump. It also serves to ground the backup lights and turn/hazard lights. Did you notice anything funny about those lights when you were having problems. Have a good night.

well actually since this all happened on start up, I was paying no attention to the lights. I do appreciate that info though, as it could be useful in the future. Thanks

Holding our breath in anticipation, lol...

Still got a good 10 to 12 volts on cranking & startup, Harley?

Yes, it quickly builds upward to 12+ volts...I never had the meter hooked up on an actual no start so can't really say how the voltage was then compared to now...

whats tricky is the one time I did try she would have started up if If I had my EGI cutoff switch on but on that one she read 9-10 volts steady while cranking.
Now on startup it happens so fast that it goes through nine volts and starts up then at 12 volts...I do however suspect that during cranking the starting is pulling so many amps that perhaps at that stage nine to to ten is all I get but upon starting the starter disengages when key is released thus letting more voltage get through....still somewhat encouraged by grounding theory....

So am I, from what you've told me

Anything 8 volts & up is good for a cranking per the FSM...If you're getting 10 due to starter current draw, that is very good (that's what I've been getting as long as I can remember...)

I told ya you wouldn't make it to update #40, lol...
