Arrow Intermittent No Start is getting narrowed down....

Ok...here is where I'm at now...for whatever reason and only on start up...fuel pressure is too low get fuel into the rail for getting past the injectors....then, all of a sudden its there and she fires up fine....this has happened with three fuel pumps, last night I put a new filter on so I'm thinking it may be electrical somehow...maybe not enough voltage to the pump at times...what relay or whatever may be causing this or other reason....

How long has the fuel cut-off switch been in the car? Did you wire it up?

fuel cut off switch is two weeks old...no start been going on for two or more years...switch was a bandaid for what I thought was leaky injectors...

Looking at the schematics, I wouldn't think it would be a bad ground, because the pump shares it with several other components, notably all of your rear lights, fuel tank level sensor, and other small items...If you're not having problems with any of those systems, the fuel pump ground should be good...You can access a good 3 or 4 feet of the pump wiring run (plus the connector at the rear strut tower), if ya want to inspect it, but you probably already did this when you replaced the pump(s), right?...The only other items that could interrupt the pump circuit are the circuit opening relay, the AFM door switch, and the harness itself...If you want to rule out the relay, temporarily splice the B/W wire and the Blue wire together, at the relay base, this will bypass the relay contacts (or you could just use a jumper wire across the two terminals at the relay base). Be forewarned, the pump will run continuously as soon as the ignition switch is turned on (this shouldn't be a prob for troubleshooting purposes)...If your problem goes away, it's that relay, or that door switch in the AFM, or the wiring to the door switch...

Yeh, just rig up a jumper wire for those pins, that'll be a lot easier than pulling those wires & splicing them...I usually use aircraft safety wire for jumpers, but anything with a little rigidity (paper clip,etc..) should work for ya...Good luck, hopefully you'll get this sucker nailed down...

Wayne...jumping those wires....is that the same thing as
doing the jump under the hood at the yellow connector by the passenger strut ?
