Interior Redo

Im lookin to replace my faded beat up maroon interior with either gray or black. I wanted to know what interior colors were made for the 88 rx7. Is the gray dark or light? The pic is some parts I like and they're supposed to be gray but they look awful close to black and i dont wanna go black on black.

Mine is light grey. If I were you id go try to find most of the parts to do a complete swap in a junkyard.

The owner of the site, BOOSTD7 swapped his whole interior, you might want to PM him and ask him about the details of doing it.

Or you can buy black carpet (around $150), and dye the plastic pieces (actually a spray dye) and then work on everything else. It should turn out decent. We did it on part of my friends interior because he forgot to get a few black plastic pieces from the donor car

For what it's worth, i'm the 3rd owner of a convertible, and i'm not sure if it came this way or not, but while i have light grey seats, carpet and door trim, the steering wheel, stereo console and shifter and e-brake are all black.

P.S. Depending on how big a hurry you're in, see if you can get the interior from someone parting out their car. i got new convertible seats AND a couple other big ticket items for like $150 (thank you wherever you are) that were in great shape. Someone should be able to give you a deal, too.
