Interior Fuse Box

Hey, I'm new to RX but have looked thru the FSM and all those Haynes etc manuals, and I've a queston about the INTERIOR fuse box and its removal and connections.

It's easy to see the three electrical plugs on its forward side. But, are there other connections to that fuse box? Like on the rear or outboard side? Top? Bottom? Anybody have a picture of it out of the car?

I'm trying to find out just where the BLACK/WHITE wire from the igniton switch attaches to that INTERIOR FUSE BOX to power the IG1 bus. I don't see a BLACK/WHITE wire in the three elect plugs just mentioned above.

I knew you'd come through for me. That's what I needed to know. I saw some wiring going behind it but couldn't tell if it made connections with the fuse box or not. I think I'll pass on removing it.

Just a thought. The connections on the back, are they bolted on or do they use spade connectors? Or connectors like those on the front?

i would have to check. its about a 3 inch thick pile of wires. ive never heard of anyone successfully removing one.

Sorry, that's the standard way to start a thread. Claim you've been looking in the Search engine and claim you read the FSM from front cover to last page. And by the way, at least I can shift into third gear (remark related to a J-Rat thread)

Oh. At this point I'm supposed to get all huffy and say "don't write on my thread if you don't have anything worthwhile to offer!" humor

It's late and I'm only familiar with S5's but try this...
- With the car OFF and the key in your pocket, take your multimeter and backprobe connector R1. You're looking for the G/Y wire. Have the other connector connected to ground. Simultaneously, reach around into the engine bay and depress the outside TPS plunger .5mm.
Make sure the radio is OFF but tune to FM 106.5.
Accelerate to at least 30 MPH in second gear.
While holding this speed, connect one side of your Tesla coil to the test connector by the frammistan.
Now it will get a bit tricky...
The other side of the Tesla coil has to be connected to the R1 connector's Y/W wire but DO NOT release the TPS, insert the key or fall under 30 MPH.

A small black hole will appear.
Gaze into it and you will see the B/W wire.
Don't touch.
Roll the polyhedral dice and see if you can level up.
If successful, hire a Hobbit Mage to reveal the B/W wire's secret lair.
If not, go to the dealership.

This diagram should make everything clear...

You just gave me an epiphany. I can officially rewire my entire car with my eyes closed. THANK YOU!

The fuse box is bolted to the car. Where the wires go up the firewall, try to push them out of the way, there is one bolt behind them holding the box in place. Then slide the box up off of the guide tab behind it. There is a retention strap holding the wires in place on the back of the box and clips for individual wires on their connectors.

I like how you started the thread... New to RX.
