Interior Blackout suggestion
For anyone that's been looking to change their interior I've been experimenting with different applications for the many different plastic pieces inside the car. For the carpets, seats and headliner I used fabric dye and for the dash and non-abused plastic I used vinyl dyes—search earlier posts for brand names.
Now, my latest find is for the high traffic areas. For the door sills and assorted other oflty kicked or scratched areas my new solution is to use rubber undercoating in a can. I thouroughly cleaned the pieces with soap and water, went over them with some ffine steel wool, rinsed, dried then sprayed on the undercoating. When it goes on it looks globby and shiny. But when it dries and adheres it looks NEW! And the rubber coating doesn't scratch off, chip or flake. I'll post pix and brand name after dinner.
