Interior?

How much would it cost to replace a badly cracked dashboard, and how much would a new carpeted interior cost? My car looks really nice on the outside but looks like someone unloaded their bowels inside my car.

I have seen black carpet sets/interior go for $200-300 or so. I think someone local had them for sale a while ago but dont remember if they were sold or not.

you best bet is to just get a used one. paint it with a flat black, if black was the original color, like a good can with UV protection so the sun wont beat on it, then lay a semi gloss clear coat so it will have a forever armour all shine...

Heres whats happening to my 87 TII...I'm putting in new black carpet, black racing seats, reupholstering the headliner, and dying all the vinyl and plastic. For the vinyl, I got this vinyl color in a rattle can from pep-boys called "Plasicote". Its gloss back. Man that stuff is incredible...looks just like the vinyl pieces came from the factory in black. Just make sure you prep everything very carefully. The carpet came from www.automotiveinteriors.com. They get all thier carpets from ACC. I had to get the model for the 88-91 RX7, but it fits perfectly in my S4. It came to $212 after shipping. The stereo surround can easily be found in a junk yard or ordered off Mazdatrix.com. I found seats at a good price and the whole thing is going to cost me around $600 when its done. If your actual dash is cracked and you want to replace the whole thing, your only affordable solution is to somehow repair it or get another from a junk yard. I would think that buying a new dash would be incredibly expensive. Good luck!

Thanks for the info on the carpet. If I have to replace the entire dash, do you think it would be around like $600 or $700? I don't want to spend extraneous amounts of money (when I got the car, the dash was pretty badly cracked).

Whatever you do, DON'T get a carpet from Victoria British. I've seen them in FC's and they look like someone dropped a blanket over the interior...horrible fit.
