An interesting Question
Well, i was at a local mazda/rotary shop and one of the techs was telling my brother about mods he could do to make his 91 vert faster. he said that the 89' computer had different fuel maps then the 90 and 91 computers and that it was a little faster. ive never heard anything like that before, does anyone here know if thats true? i think that it might be true on the automatic tranny computers, it would make sense to pull a bit more power to make up for the power lost to extra weight and different gearing

Aaron Cake, are you saying that there is an ECU dedicated to cars with an automatic transmission and there is a ECU dedicated to a car with a manual transmission????? I'm talking basic ECU, not a seperate computer that works in conjunciton with the ECU. If so, do you have any more info??????
