Interested in this RX7, but have a question..

Hi guys, I'm interested in picking up an RX7, and I found an advertised '89 Turbo RX7 for sale a few hundred miles away. The only picture it included was this one..

My question is that I saw the black side moldings, and I thought '89's were S5s with the painted moldings. Is this an S4, and did they mess up the year? Also, are those stock wheels? Thanks in advance, sorry if this is a newb question I'm just confused.

your asumptions are correct. not a 89 and not a stock turbo atleast with a top mount intercooler

First impression - it's a hybrid:
No hood scoop - maybe a FMIC?
3rd gen wheels.
Aftermarket seats?
Black (S4) trim like you said.

It's all about condition & price

They want two grand, and with the things you've mentioned it seems fishy. I think I will stay away from this one, thanks guys.

it could be a TII swap, or just a misprint, can you have someone visually look it over in person?

its an 86-88 se... base model. those are not 3rd gen wheels theyre aftermarket, purchased approx 1998. note the 4 lug. its definitly not a turbo, or it would probably not be so sprung in the front (due to extra weight on se suspension) alot of *cough* RETARTDs think that their fc is a turbo. why? i dont know. you should at least call him and let him know that unless he has a hidden aftermarket front mount, his car is not a turbo and not an 89.

2gs isnt that bad for it though if its in decent condition.. low miles or new motor.. body looks good.

Yup - I missed the 4-lug pattern.

What about this one?

http://www.teamfc3s.org/forum/showth...threadid=33394

I have never worked on a rotary, but have always wanted one. How difficult would the swap be for me? I'm willing to take the time to learn.
