hey guys. im new here and have been scanning though some of these fc threads. nice site you all got here and hopefully i can become a regular here. i currently own a 1996 honda prelude. but my dream car has been a 2nd gen rx7!! in many occasions ive been trying to sell my prelude in order to obtain an fc but i havent gone through. i still have some plans on the prelude. anyways i might obtain a 1986 rx7 shell for 500 bucks here in houston tx. the motor is not running due to apex seal failures. my question...should i go for this shell and slowly in time fix it up. i want this to be a drifter. i would swap out the engine with a 13b turbo. i want to know what is your opinion on the fc. please guys if you can help me out. ive been learning a great deal on rotary engines for the past few months. it will be great if you can give me opinions on the rx7 and how awesome it drifts!! thanks alot

hmm i dunno $500 sounds steep, i almost got a mint turbo II minus drivetrain for $400, so thats a little steep. Just search around, both here in the classifieds and in your local area. Read the FAQ section, lots and lots of info, and if you dont want to spen cash on a turbo engine you can always turbo an N/A engine. I am, i'm slowly collecting the parts, have a turbo and manifolds in my garage (wee).
Anyways- Welcome to the club, hope you get a 7 and stick around, endless knowledge is available here, just search for it and you'll find it.

P.S. Drifting isn't everything, and our cars are actually designed for grip driving, but you can still get it slide-ways
Keep an eye out for these kinds of FC's '88 GTU '86-88 GXL any year Turbo II and '89-91 GTUs.
