Interested in an FC; What to, and what to not look for?

Hey guys, recently I've begun to have a deep interest in the FCs. I currently have a 1984 12a FB, and I'm looking to move on up. There's an obvious increase in power, looks, and braking, but what else is there that you guys like so much about the FC? I've heard rumors that the fc is horrible when it comes to electric issues, any info on that?
Considering I might buy an fc, could you guys give me some pointers and things to and to NOT look for?

Any input is appreciated!
Thanks
-Scott
