Intercooler piping

I am installing a custom FMIC. I am gonna run 2.5" pipe, however do you think it will matter if I run it through 2" 1st. Here is the set up. 2" elbow off the turbo through the 2" pipe the BOV is on. From the BOV pipe I have a 2"-2.5" transducer then from there it is 2.5" the rest of the way. The intercooler is has 2.5" inlet and outlet, and I bought that 2.5" TB inlet off ebay to ease the FMIC install. So will it hamper performance much to not go straight to 2.5"?
Thanks
Jeremy

Why not 2.5" all the way?

Well for one the outlet for the turbo is 2" and I have a 2" elbow already, and I just bought a Greddy BOV with the Greddy FC pipe. The most direct route to the intercooler is a elbow comming right off the turbo. That sends the pipe direclty towards the cooler. I thought about refabricating a pipe for the BOV and trying to find a transducing elbow that went from 2"-2.5". Anyway I was just wondering since the outlet from the turbo (BNR Stage 3) is only 2" would it really hurt to much to add about another 6-8" of 2" pipe before the 2.5" pipe? I know it would be best to open it up as soon as possible but do you think I will have any "real" loss in power, meaning would I feel a difference when I mat it, or would I gain even two tenths of a second in 1/4mi? If not then I do not find it worth the time to refab the BOV pipe and try to find a transducing elbow. I was just wondering if anyone else has ran into this issue, or who else is running piping similar to my set up and if its working ok. After the 1st 6-8" it goes to 2.5" for about another foot or so into the cooler and the rest of the way into the engine. Thank You for your reply NZ convertible

You'll be absolutely fine with that setup.

I was thinking it should be fine. I just wanted to hear it from someone else. Somtimes when doing stuff like this its like my brain gets clogged with all the ideas I have and I feel I might over look somthing. I just wanted to make sure I was not overlooking anything with this piping size issue. Thanks guys for the replys.

If you can be bothered, do it. If you can't, don't. Personally I'd probably assemble it as you have it now, and then fab up a new BOV pipe later when I had some spare time and felt the need to modify something. I'm sure the noticeable effects will be minimal.
