Is this intercooler big enough?
I am planning on running a GT34R at about 16psi on a NA motor and here are my mods so far.
MS ECU
gt35r trubo
720 primaries 1200secondaries(rather over do than underdo)
Tubular mani
external HKS WG
GRedyy RS BOV
Areomotive a1000 fuel pump
I am probably forgetting some things.
The intercooler I got for free, and is off of an STi, and if it is big enough I will run it front mount.
Dimensions
19x8x3

if it were still on the suby most with a gt35r would have upgraded the intercooler but if its front mount it will cool better so i would say it will prob work. 16 psi NA motor? sounds a little harsh but i guess your askin about the intercooler.
You can bet your bottom dollar that your motor will not last long running 16psi on those high compression n/a rotors...
How much did you pay for that??? You can mount an exact duplicate of the greddy 32r for 500.00 via ebay and some MINOR fabrication which I know you can handle.
Edit* you got it for free so sell the ****** and get the 24x12x3 intercooler on ebay along with the universal piping kit, and the proper hoses and clamps.

the endtanks on that thing are going to be a bitch. You'll either have a ton of weird piping or need to get some new ones welded up.
...you'd've been better off with an NPR...

It's not the size that counts, it's the way you use it.
I'd say front mounted that would easily handle 16psi from a gt35r, the real question is how long will your engine handle 16psi? :S
What psi do STI's run stock with it topmounted? 14psi isn't it?

I thougt STis ran like 16psi stock.
Its a brand new motor and my hopes are pretty high on this project. I may accually end up not running that psi, because I am shooting for quick spool, and mid range power. This is maily going to be a auto-x car so max Hp is nice just not needed.

Yeah I got it for free. I could a biiger one for free(but it wont fit under/around/behind/near my car, stupid big rig). I may end up selling it, I just thought well hell I got it why not see if I can use it.
is the motor a stock 6 port or has it been ported out? either way this is going to be interesting, just how much boost can N/A rotors withstand... sounds like a great project.

Sotck port with working AUX ports just to see what it will do. The rotors are the very last thing I am worried about failing on me. They are pretty much the same as T2 rotors just the T2 rotors have a bigger dent(for lack of a better word) in the middle if I am not mistaken.
^ are you guys kidding...that "dent" is what determines the rotors compression ratio...Turbo2 rotors are 8.5:1 (s4) and 9.0:1 (s5). How long do you think you engine is going to last at 16psi on 9.5:1 Na comp???

from all the good things I have heard about the Megasquirt from the guys that build them right down the street from my house, the motor will last just as long as my t2 motor. Its all in the tuning. So this question can not be answered until his setup is up and running ans on the dyno/street wideband tuning session and keep upping the boost until you can't keep the AFR's where you want them.
I would suggest that you might want to try one of those cooling mist alky sprayers for a little added protection. Thats what I am going to use but I am trying to run 20lbs on pump 93 + home depot denaturated alky.
if he wants to do it, let him!! help him!!!!!
dont bash him...hes not the only person running that turbo on high comp. rotors!!
of course the person im thinkin of is bridgeported
how far are u into this???
have you started it yet???(the project)

Yes I know what that dent does, what do you think I am retarded. And you seem to think 9.5:1 is high compression. I work on diesels everyday, and they have around 22:1 and up and pushing massive amounts of boost. The reason most of these projects fail are because people simply do not do it right, lean out, or **** with the timing.
A proper tune is also very very important. Everything has to come together as one or the project will fail, its that simlpe

I have that intercooler(maybe ebay it)
the 720cc injectors
1600ccs are on order
the GT35R is on order
Waiting on the next group buy or so to order my MS
My mani is being welded up at a shop, and if it fails to be what I want I will be ordering one from Turboblown.
I have enough piping to encircle the earth.
Working on a "Strawberry" at a macjine shop I have access to
And the BOV and WG I can order at anytime.
I still have to go through breaking in my motor, and this project will be done over a long period of time, and I have anther car to drive while this on is being worked on.
