Hey guys I need to know what exactly what I need to swap a third gen intake manifold on to a 89 TII. ETC... how would you go about hooking up the TPS from the 3rd gen on the old harness...and vacuum lines (are they plug and play) PLEASE I HAVE ACCESS TO A 3rd gen manifold and I need a new throttle body for my second gen so I was going see If I could just swap over intake manifolds thanks.......Nick

 

You can't. The 3rd gen manifold won't fit under the 2nd gen hood. That, and the 3rd gen uses and MAP-based system, not a MAF (like our cars). In a nutshell, they're completely different

Not true. I have seen many people swap in the 3rd Gen upper manifold on their 2nd Gen, but I do not know the procedure that needs to be taken to do this mod.

 

It doesnt bolt up. The ports dont line up and neither do the bolt holes. It requires an adapter. It requires quite a bit of work. Not really worth the effort IMO.
