Intake installation
By A/C do you mean the silver/black pump on the passenger side of the car? That is the air pump. It is recomended that it have a filter on it. Not too important to have one, just recomended. My N/A vert has never had one ond its been fine for about 25k miles.
You can put the filter directly onto the turbo, you don't have to have a tube. But you will need a smaller filter for your air pump, and you'll prolly need an aftermarket BOV because the stock BPAV leaks air thus vacuum leak. Also, what about your maf?
There are no "attachments" for the air pump. The air pump has a rubber, thick vacuum line which it sucks air thru. You can either buy a small "breather" filter for it, or run it open. You could also consider wrapping it with some mesh, to keep BIG things out of it. A guy around here ran his fine for a long time, but when he took it off and shook it, a big screw came out. Still worked fine!

There MUST be a filter on the airpump. At various times, the ACV is dumping air into the intake to prevent afterburn. If you do not have a filter, it will dump dirt into the engine.
