Intake info/smog removal
I've been checking out this "Weapon R" intake and supposedly they're pretty good. I want to know if it would be better to get their Dragon Intake and get a ram air kit for it, or get the Secret Weapon Intake. Any better intake solutions would be appreciated. http://www.weapon-r.com/intakes.html
Is it illegal to remove the smog pump from the rx7?

Oh wow. Don't bother with weapon R, unless you like rice.
I suggest K&N, Apexi, or for the least $$, Bonez. The K&N kit and the Bonez kits will have everything you need for an emissions legal setup. All are quality tested products. But if you absolutely need the air pump you use a breather filter. It can be found at http://www.rx7.com (also their street comp intake has it as a bolt in setup).
FYI, Its not ram air either.

getting that weapon r will make your intake system worse, 'cause you'll be sucking in hot engine air. In order for there to be any improvement, you need to either set up a cold air box that blocks out engine air and brings in air from the outside, or jsut stick your filter somewhere it can get outside air.
Most people just make the setup themselves. If you really feel like spending money, there are cold air boxes for sale somewhere. There are some threads on this shwoing other people's setups if you need some ideas (search for "cold air intake", "CAI", "cold air box", etc.).

Yeah, I also agree that you shouldn't bother with a piece of crap Weapon R intake. You can remove the airpump and cat and put them back on at emissions time if you want. Also, here's a nice write-up to a real CAI setup.
