intake air temp.

If my air intake temp sensor came disconected during driving, what would the symptoms be. Is it used by the comp. to calculate the mass of air during driving, or is it just used during driving?

I don't know. Crummy answer. But the ecu needs to know how dense the air charge is, so I assume that it is taken into account while driving. I question if it is used at idle because we all know that the variable resistor is used to set the richness at idle. As they say, if you assume something. you make an *** out of U and ME.

If it becomes unplugged (or stops working) the ECU defaults to a certain temp. I wanna say about 140-150* but don't have the manual. I've been playing with the sensors on my NA quite a bit and that one doesn't seem to make a whole lotta difference relative to the water temp sensor.
