Red face Installing proportioning valve - anyone know brake line thread size?

The Mazdacomp kit was supposed to come with the right fittings, but they are 3/8-24.
I think the brake line going into the stock proportioning valve is 10mmx1.0.

Anyone know for sure? Heading to the track SOON.

Thanks,
DMC

Yep, the compression fittings should be 10mm x 1.0 - they are all metric.

Thanks RETEd,
Do you know if they are Earl -3AN Female 10mm x 1.0 -- 989534ERL or
-3AN Female 10mm x 1.0 I.F. 989545ERL inverted flare?
Just found a writeup on flying miata that says to ditch the stock prop valve.

All ends are double-flare female.
So, if you're trying to connect something to them, it has to be metric male flare.

Whereabouts are you installing it? I was thinking I'd splice the line running to the rear and mount it in the cavity where the e-brake handle was. Take some fancy plumbing but a great location, agree? Take a pic or two if you can. Cheers.

Okay, what exactly is in this kit?

I would imagine it would only be the proportioning valve and a couple of fittings for the valve itself?
Did they give you several lengths of brake line also?
I would be surprised if they do.

I think they want you to cut the stock lines, use the SAE fittings, and then double flare them?

It included adapters for -3an and 3/16 american line.
I will have to buy the correct parts.
This link from flying miata has a lot of good info:
http://www.flyinmiata.com/support/in...ning_valve.pdf

They mount it where the existing proportioning valve is. I think I am going to put mine above the brake booster to keep it out of the way of intercooler pipes, changing spark plugs, etc.

Inside the cabin would be better, but this is much easier. I will post picks and a parts list when I finish

Yeah, having it place there makes it a lot easier to install.
Installation inside the interior makes it a pain-in-the-***.
