Installing new oil cooler line

I recently looked under my car and saw that oil was leaking out from the oil cooler line. Has anyone replaced this line? Do I have to drain the oil? I was also wondering if there is a aftermarket line such as a steel braided one I can purchase? I think oil is leaking out through the oil metering pump as well. I was just curious how hard this is to replace. Thanks

First off block off the OMP and just run premix...easier and supposedly better for the engine. Next there are some replacement lines I think racingbeat and mazdatrix both sell them. You can also make your own with the right ends and so forth from aeroquip and adapters from mazdatrix. If you do a search I think you can find the exact part numbers.

Remove the OMP, replace the o-ring. Reinstall. How hard is that?

Yes, you can buy SS lines for your oil cooler, Mazdatrix sells them.

I suppose you could not drain the oil, but honestly, drain the oil. less of a mess

You don't have to drain the oil at all to fix the metering pump or the oil cooler lines. Both are well above oil level in the sump. But since you doing this stuff, you might as well change the oil at the same time.

Agree with above....not necessary to drain the oil.
