Installing a Koyo in a S5 with Auto Transmission

Has anyone installed a Koyo radiator in a 2nd Gen with an auto transmission? I know you will need a transmission oil cooler to route the fluid lines to, but what size cooler and mounting location will work?

The stock cooler is a water to oil cooler that sits in the radiator. Pretty cheesy, and I would always upgrade my customers' oil coolers if they ever got their slushboxes replaced or rebuilt. You don't need a monster one, just a regular transmission cooler from the parts store would already be better than trying to "cool" the trans fluid with 185 degree water across some copper tubes. Just mount it to the front of the radiator. It should come with a mount kit.

Or just swap the slush box with a real transmission. Fin.

Sure, but not everyone has the money and fabrication skills it would take to find a RWD DSG and adapt it into the FC.

I have used this one, not on an RX7 but in other projects to replace an oem cooler:

Hayden Fluid Coolers 679 - SummitRacing.com

OR, you could go to a salvage yard and pick one off of any half or 3/4 ton pickup or panel van. Panel Van's are thick in salvage yards.

I plan to, but for the time being, since my OEM is cracked, I want to install the new radiator and drive the car until I can gather all the parts to do the swap.

My only concerns are if the inlet/outlet tubes are the same diameter as the lines coming from the tranny and if it will be small enough to fit in front of the new radiator.
