installing alternator
Is there anything special for the belt adjustment? or do you adjust the belts by adjusting the height at which the alternator resides by changing the location of the higher bolt? I want to make sure it's in properly, and doing it this way doesn't seem very accurate because w/ one hand i'm trying to hold alternator in place, and the other hand i'm trying to screw the bolt in...
another thing i noticed, the screw on the back of the alternator where the ground is attached to, it isn't threaded all the way, so it doesn't clamp down the ring terminal, i haven't tried installing it yet, so I don't know for sure, but it seems to be that way, just wondering if that's alright

I would tighten the nut all the way down on the ring terminal. To tighten my alt. I used something to leverage the alt upwards to tension it even more so it sliding down while I tightened wasnt an issue.

Just as long as there is about an 1" on slack then you're ok. Look at your Hayne's manual and it should give you some guidance. IF you don't have one. Then shame on you......or should i say "doom on you".

Yeah, i've got "big blue" a large 2 footl ong screw driver that i used to pry up on the bottem of the alt... works great.
Man, i've done 2 alt's.. takes like 5-10 min now.. gotta love simplicity
