Installing Alarm and had a few questions.

1987 GXL

Well i'm in the middle of finishing up my alarm install but still have a few wires to figure out.

I want to use the door handle sensor switchs to set my alarm off if someone pulls on the door handle. Is there a wire at the factory alarm plug that will give me a signal for both door handles? Also are the switches a (-) grounded trigger or a (+) trigger.

Any help would be much appreciated

Have you looked at a wiring diagram?

Yes, well i've given up on the door handle triggers b/c mine seem to be missing

I have tested the alarm and the only problem I have is my door triggers arn't working.

I have the (-) ground trigger from my alarm attached to the Blue and white wire at the Theft Deterent system. With my multi meter, when i open the door it only shows like .2 volts......

Instead of getting the doortriggers there where should i get it at the dome light?

Sounds like you are testing incorrectly.

With your meter set on Voltage, you should have the positive leed of your meter on a 12 volt source and the neg lead of your meter on the wire. When the door is open you will have 12 volts on your meter when tested that way. Remember the door triggers are grounding, not voltage. Fords influence has not got that far yet as to have positive door triggers.
