Installing after market stereo, need some suggestions
I've read several threads and none list vendors or brands of things they use. I'm looking to install an aftermarket single din stereo, the factory hasn't worked since I got the car. I'd like to know what kits you guys have used. I've seen scosche and metra make kits but it seems the reviews of these kits are less than stellar. I've seen a few guys that had kits with cup holders in the bottom, but I cant seem to find this one.
Also, when bypassing the amp for the headrest speakers, did you guys just jump the harness at the amp or run new wires to the bottom of the seats?

Just do not use the headrest speakers at all IMO. You want to set a front stage. Not a rear. I simply used a single din with some wire strapping behind. I made a plexiglass plate to cover the unused lower area. Paint the back of the glass black. Looks really nice.

The metra kit is good but stay the hell away from scosche.
Also keep in mind, you'll need to wire up a relay for factory power antenna since it is negative trigger.

The utility of the headrest speakers is not to set a stage. They are very useful for conditions when you can't:
I am driving top-down in the neighborhood, I want to hear the music and not **** off the residents/neighbors.
I am driving 70 with the top down and want to hear the music without contributing to the destruction of my hearing for the rest of my life.
If I was using the stereo to run the headrest speakers directly, I would use fresh wires.
Most everything in this thread will apply to your S4. https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generati...works*-936255/
Good Luck!
