installing 4.30 gears into turbo rear end

i searched but couldn't find anything, but i would like to know, what bearings, seals etc. are required when changing the ring and pinion from 4.10 to 4.30 in an s4 turbo II rear end?

also, are there any write-ups or how to's on the subject?
has anyone else done this swap, and if so is it pretty strait forward?

thanks in advance

Id take a look into the FSM for preload settings and such.

Also, you'd have to buy a 4.3 ring gear made specifically for the T2 diff case if you want it to "drop in". Its rumored also that the Infini IV uses a 4.3 pinion.

Seals needing replacement I can think of would be the pinion seal, crush sleeve, and pinion nut.

the ring and pinion do come from the infini model.
i couldn't find anything in the fsm on ring and pinion removal. i will have to double check though.

That's hardly a rumor. It's written on the spec sheet...

I was going to buy the 4.30 gears for mine as well but now that I rode in a t2 with a 4.30 rear end I want 4.44

I still want a little lower gearing at 80mph 3900 rpms
highway mileage sucks but I don't drive it much on the highway for any distances anymore. The 4.30 was a noticable difference but 4.44 with 300+ rear wheel hp and we are talking serious performance

I do have 4.30 and i am switching to 4.11 soon. First and 2nd gear are quite useless with 4.30.
