Installed my intake filter...question on hose

OK I installed my filter for the S4 and when I took the stock box out there was a rubber hose that connected to the box and it sucks in a lot of air....what's it for and is it ok if i have a piece of cloth covering it to prevent any debris to get sucked in? I'm planning on building a box soon but wondering if the cloth will work until I have time to build one..

UMM- NO!

That hose goes to the air pump... You need to buy a "breather filter" ASAP. About $9.99 at autozone.

I have been driving with no filter on my air pump for about 2 weeks now. Just to schol and back. I knw that's not good, but I can't find one of those litle filters for it around here, and I plan on taking it off in about a week anyways. BTW, s5, 1991 coup...later
