Installed Intake, Now Car Won't Start...

Ok, I followed what directions I could because the manual was in another language, but I can't seem to find out what I did wrong with such a simple procedure. Now the kid who owned the car before me seemed to have had a field day with the wiring before, so maybe I just hit something loose while I was under there, but i'll just let you see what you think about this.

I'll just give you a rundown of what I did and maybe you can tell me what I did wrong. I didn't really have much to go by, so heres what I did.

Removed the stock filter by removing all the bolts and loosened the small black tube and removed it from the air pump, then removed the larger tube from the other side, and assembled the intake as per the directions, also removing the plug with the wires. I put the intake in, making sure everything was tight, and put the larger tubing on first, then put the smaller black tubing that came with it back on the air pump, and used a c-clamp on that because I lost the other clamp that was originall on it. So I go inside for a while, and when I come out start the car, I pop the hood so I could see if everything was going right while it was running. I have the hood up, and I start the car, it starts, but revs up to maybe 900rpms before it immediately shuts down. I tried one more time, but gave it a little gas as I started it, but pushing the gas pedal seemed to do absolutely nothing as it did the exact same thing. I looked over the setup and couldn't find anything wrong, but then again I wouldn't even know what I was looking for

Anyone have suggestions to what I might have done wrong?

make sure all the hoses and stuff you unhooked and put back on are tight...then check the wires going to the AFM...

Definatly an AFM/air metering problem.
There are a couple of big hoses that go to the intake, make sure those are hooked up.
What you described is exactly what a car will do if the intake is wide open or AFM is dangling loose or something, it's could be unplugged too- check the wiring.

The best thing I could have right now would be a pic of an installed a'pexi intake. On my intake, theres the single black smaller tube that goes to the air pump, then the large tube which the filter goes straight through to. With the wiring, after I did the intake, I just plug it back in like normal the way it was before and it should work? I'm going to clean the leads, and follow the wire to see whats wrong.

car won't start like how? does it start and then die right off the bat? start, run but then die soon after when you try to let it idle? or does it not even crank, or does it crank and not catch?

Basically it starts like normal, like by the sound of it I thought it was going to start. Then further in the startup, where it usually revs up and drops down to the normal idle, it only revs up to like 950rpms and immediately shuts down.

Could my AFM have been broken in the process? Where does the AFM plug end up? When I plug mine in, the plug won't reach all the way to the back. Like it will be snug around the connection, but the plastic of the plug never reaches the back of the AFM and fit flush. Can anyone check on their S5 TII if the plug fits flush with the AFM or if theres a tiny space between it? I've tried to push it in more but it wont go, so I figured thats where it stopped, but can someone else please check?
