innovative is still not working. need some help please

morning,

I installed my lc-1 into my 88 turbo vert and it is all hooked up. i did all the calibration and i am getting a steady red light from the led indicating a ready to rock signal HOWEVER, i bought a serial to usb adapter becuase my laptop doesnt have a serial port (its a toshiba satellite) and when ever i bring up the log works ap it is saying that there is no serial detectable. how do i make this software work with my usb cable?

thanks
steve

I don't own one, but if I were you, I'd post on THEIR user forum on the site above.

Their SUPPORT page indicates this might be the way to go. http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/support.php

I suspect you'll need a *special* cable and assume they sell one.

got it. thanks. yeah i bought a serial to usb cable. i just had to change some settings around in the device manager to get it to recognize the usb as the serial. works great. but bad news is my doubts have become a reality, the turbo is making to much boost, there is a lean spike at 5kish and my safc is maxed out!....so better fuel delivery is going to solve the problem i suspect. now. ill try searching but, i would guess that 720 720 combo would to the trick? its not a very large spike. but enough so that my afc cant handle.

or maybe fuel pressure....hrm maybe the rewire mod would give me some extra fuel pressure??

I've been in your position. You may be maxing out your injectors... go Rtek 1.8 (or 2.1) with 720/720 . Double check your fuel pump wiring (you DO have an upgraded pump right?) of course, but it is possible to max out 550/720 on the stock turbo. I've done it.

****...well i do have a walbro 255 (man i should really put this stuff in my sig) i think in the mean time i will just run 93 octane with octane booster. that should help right?? ill do a run with it, see what happens.

what does the fuel pump mod do and what are its benefits ?

Wow, what a surprise! I never would have guessed, lol.

Using higher octane and octane booster WILL NOT increase the fuel flow and WILL NOT correct a lean condition. You really need to take your car to a professional tuner before you blow up your engine. Hopefully your fuel injectors are not toast.

Agreed, the safest bet would be to TURN DOWN THE BOOST until you can get it tuned / bigger injectors
