Inner Tie Rods Shot?

everything in my front end is new but the rack and inner tie rods ... the car is straight but for some reason it drifts a little and i can hear a sort of binding when turning slow or backing up into my driveway ... any one know what it is?

well, jack up the front end and grab a hold of your wheel and see if there is any play on their turning radius, have a friend watch and see if the inners are sloppy when you move the wheels.

You just need to watch it. If the tire and outer tie rod move together when they are turned, then they are tight. If you turn the tire and the tire/outer tie rod move but the inner doesn't move for a second, then thats where your play is.

Its a two man operation, one man move - one man watch.

Be nice to your steering rack when removing the old one... there's a roll pin in the top of the rack that holds the inner tie rod on as well as the threads.

Edit: If you plan on doing it yourself...
