Inner combustion o-ring

After the orange seal is picked out there are these white looking seals that come out. What are these? They are on the outside of the orange seal.

Probably just the inner seal seperating. They get old, and then come apart when removed.

Yup. The seal is a 3 layer unit - the inner rubber, and then two (teflon?) outer coatings on each side.

All of the pieces have to come out for the new seal to sit properly.
