Injectors

Okay, I`ve got an 86GXL, stock. I will be doing the S5 UIM and Dynamic chamber conversion. During this process I will be installing Pineapple Sleeve Inserts. (I know I will have to pull the LIM , I`ve already ordered gaskets). I will also be sending my injectors to RC Engineering to be cleaned/rebuilt/flow-tested. My question is this,(since I have a set of 89 stock N/A injectors from a second engine), I`d like to tear down the manifolds in my `86 do my conversion and reassemble without having to stop in the middle, send my injectors off then wait for them to get back, then finish the job.
I know there is some differances between the `86 and `89 injectors, one is impedence the other is plug style and notch position. I know by removing the resistor pac I can make the `89 model injectors function with my stock `86 ECU, but how do I get around the plug style and notch position issue?? (or can I?)

Also just a side note, I will be purchasing a MegaSqurit/MegaSquritnSpark some time in the near future

As you guys can see I have been using the search function, just have not been able to find all the answers.

Yes, by passing the resistor block will allow you to use the '89 style injectors.

As for the plug, you'll have to go to the wreckers, buy 4 of those and then graft them onto your harness. I know of no source of new round injector connectors.

Thanks Aaron I was afraid that would be the case. I am unable to find ANY parts for our cars in the boneyards here in Detroit. (if you need something for your Chevy I got that covered though) Guess I`ll try the for sale section.

Those images are very hard to see, but it doesn't look like the right connector.

FWIW, many Japanese cars (including many Mazdas) used the oval connectors for a while. Should be easy to find at the wreckers. I think I may have found a new source but I lost the link so I'll have to hunt it down again...
