Injectors
Hey i just heard about this and this could be why my new engine wont start, i bought this car with the engine out, but any ways the guy said it has brand new injectors for it. I have a 87 turbo 2 and the injectors i got in the new jspec have purple tops?? i heard purple tops are high impedence? is this right? it that why my 87 wont run?

Purple tops are the S5 TII injectors. Yes they are high impedence, but they have the oval Nippondenso plug. If your car is an 87, you should have the low impedence(maybe, the cutoff date was middle of 87, dont know exactly), and square Bosch plugs.

Get a volt/ohm meter and put one lead on each tang of the injectorl. If they read 12ohms you have the high impedence injectors. Another thing is the injectors have a TAB on the jack where the plug connects. This TAB should be in the middle of the jack for a lw impedence injector. Your electrical plug should have a slot for the tab, in the middle of the plug if the car gets low impedence injectors. In reality the tabs can be easily over ridden by just shoving the plug on the injector, and you wouln't even know it. Remember, if your car has the large silver resistor pack below the afm, located on the frame itself, then you need low impedence injectors I.e. 2-3 ohm injectors. High impedence 12 ohm injectors will not work and you will go nuts trying to start your car without the low impedence ones if using high impedence ones. The TABS ARE THE CLUE.
