Does 1 and 2 represent the secondary injectors? And do 3 and 4 represent the primary injectors?

Well let's say 1 and 2 are secondary injector connectors. It matters not if they are mixed b/t each other. The secondary injectors are what is called Batch fired or fire at the same time. Matters not in that case at all.

And lets say 3 and 4 are primary injectors. I've convinced myself that primarys also batch fire and therefore it matters not if primary one is mixed with primary two. I came to this conclusion by wondering what would happen if they were mixed (primarys) so I just depinned primary one and primary two AT the ECU and whoa and behold the engine ran the same. Same rpm, same afr same ole same ole.

Just cannot mix secondays and primarys. Won't work atall.

Only the series 3 GSLSE and the weird European/Middle East spec series 4 are batch fired, partly because they have distributors which provide only an engine speed signal. The series 4 is NOT batch fired except during cranking. Meaning that it does matter how you hook up your injectors. The injector firing is phased 180 degrees apart.

The front injectors are sync'd to each "G" signal from the crank angle sensor. The "G" signal comes from the big teeth and is equivalent to a cam position sensor in a piston motor. The rear injectors are sync'd to fire 6 "Ne" signal pulses after the main "G" signal. The "Ne" signal comes from the smaller teeth in the FC sensor and is similar to a crank position signal on a piston motor.

The injector timing will change relative to that arrangement, depending on rpm:

Swap your primary injector wires at the ECU someday and see if you can tell the difference. Looking at the pages from the manual says I'm wrong about the primarys........though I'll be darn if I can tell it.
