all right...what about the bogging? could it be caused by clogged injectors, or maybe sumtin else? I just did a readout of all the ecu inputs/outputs, only thing "bad" was the split air sol. valve. would that do it?

I used to be a huge supporter of injector cleaner, until I actually learned what was in it. Off the shelf cleaners contain nothing but what you already find in gasoline (acitone, etc.) Dumping a few more ounces of these chemicals into a tank ot 60 litres of gasoline is essentially pointless because of dilution. Even running injector cleaner on an empty tank will have minimal, if any effect.

Have them professionally cleaned. They only need to be done every 100,000K or so if you replace your fuel filter on schedule.
Bad (cheap) gas, dirty fuel filter and the car sitting are the main causes of fuel injector issues...

so 180,000 on mine's too much LOL? I was planning on changing 'em when I did the rebuild in a couple of months..BTW- always use the same gas (never had a prob w/ it), filter's about 10,000 miles "old" & the car NEVER sits- too fun to drive!

Most local diesel shops can clean your injectors for around $20 per injector. We have a local shop I have taken several sets to. They clean, balance and include a print out with the spray pattern for about $25 (Canadian) per injector.

Thanks for the help, Aaron- I'm just gonna try to run a crapload of injector cleaner through 'em for now to see if that's even the prob...

BTW, 1987 rxguy...I know it's not clogged cat, been there, done that, clogged cat wouldn't let me rev above 4000 rpms, this is different- when she warms up, give it gas (for a "medium" acceleration & above) & she'll just BOG, like the injectors are shutting off or something, any gear... I just changed the o2 sensor, could that cause it (even though I read the output from the o2 sensor at the ECU at idle & it looked good)?

if they are proffesionaly done will it also clean out the secondaries? those are only activated at 3800 right? i wouldnt think they would run the engine up that high because when i saw mine done they just had it idling so i dont think they were cleaned

Cleaning and blueprinting is done with them out of the car and on a bench set-up. That's why professionally cleaned will include secondaries(unless you don't take them out and send them in in the first place). Where does it bog Wayne? Any rpm? right when you hit the gas? after decel? Does it stay bogged the whole time or catch a sec later?

I thought of the in-tank filter, but she only acts up when she's warm & i've been on the highway for a while...I'll downshift to fourth to pass the damn 18-wheelers, & it's like the injectors just shut off...I'll let off the gas & it'll start "running" again...this started not soon after I changed the o2 sensor, put a fuel pump cutout switch in (got tired of the damn FLOODING), and ran wiring from the check connector to some LED's I mounted on the console. thought it might be that wiring picking up an emf signal from the spark plug wires & screwing w/ the ecu, so I disconnected those from the check plug & moved the new wiring about 4" away from the plug wires, but its still bogging.whew, long writeup

plugs are brand new- changed 'em when the bitch flooded on me last week...wires got about 30,000 on 'em, compression's good...I'm thinkin' now that the ecu is getting an o2 signal (lord knows how long it's been running with a bad one) that it's freakin' it out???

Dude, you ran led's from your check connector. Did you unplug the single pin connector you need grounded for checking codes? If that's it just kick yourself now. If not I'm not sure where to look next.

good thinking, but I never shorted the plug to check the codes, I wanted them to come on while I was driving if anything went wrong ( that's how I discovered that the o2 sensor was bad)---
