Smile injector

hey guys i have a 86 13b non turbo and i'm trying to find all four injectors, i found two on the passenger side. I'm also new to the rotary world so any good information would be helpful. I'm having a flooding problem and the car will not start, and ive been reading that its common for the injectors to leak. so if you guys can give me any information that'd be great.

it's actually uncommon for the injectors to leak, people just refuse to believe they either have low compression or don't have enough common sense to figure out how to check for vacuum leaks.

getting sick of hearing leaky injectors blamed as the #1 reason for flooding.

For hot start problems, the stock start map is the root of the problem. With engine temps 149* and up, stock ECUs run an injector pulsewidth of about 20 ms. In my own experience, 8-10 ms will start every time. 20ms is just overkill.

Hailer's came up with a semi-fix to trick the ECU into using a smaller pulsewidth here: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/looking-car-has-hot-start-problems-499744/

The factory service manual shows the location and the testing method for the fuel system. If you don't want to buy one, there are links to free online manuals in the FAQ of this section. A good companion to the factory manual is the Haynes maunal, which has nice pictures for noobs, and is about $15 at your local generic auto parts store.

Keep in mind that you will need to remove the upper intake manifold to get to the primary injectors, and you will need a new gasket when you put it back together.

Read the FAQ and the manual first, then ask questions if you need more details.

The flooding issue can be either the hot start problem of the stock ECU as mentioned above by RotaryRocket88, low compression / vacuum leaks as mentioned above by Karack, or leaky injectors.

The unflooding procedure is listed here:

well the ECU running rich on hot start is generally tied to low compression, a good condition engine and control system will start fine. i will admit it is mapped a bit too rich and even average to mildly low compression engines suffer from hot start issues due to it.
