Info for savanna rx-7 infini II

Hello guys, I'm new here and recently bought a 1987 savanna rx-7 "infini II". I can find a lot of info for the infini III and IV but almost nothing about the I and II versions. Can someone help me find something? Thank you!

You are in luck as I've been digging in the Parts Catalogs for years. Generally speaking, the Infini II is the only RHD Series 4 to have a black interior. The 10AE is as close to a Left-hand drive Infini II as one can get.

They only came in Noble White or Brilliant Black paint. Also, the car's MSC Code is unique to the Infini II. F057-51A. MSC is short for Model System Catalog, it's the code that says what model the car was built as, what options group it has, etc. F057-510 is the first Infini.

My memory is a bit fuzzy on build date range, but if you post your VIN, I can verify is it is real or not. A few pictures would certainly be a plus too.

Last, there is a Maintenance Manual Supplement specific to GT-Limited Special Edition and Infini models (WM047, dated 8/1986). It includes a Wiring Diagram update as well. I imported both of them, and a few other goodies from Japan last year. Haven't seen another copy pop up since.

I'm still working on getting my custom designed Book Scanner perfectly dialed in. It's ~92% there, but things like this demand it be done right the first time.

So I did some modding in one of my virtual machines and got Japanese Language support working all the way now. Did a test run with my friend's vin number and added simple translations for everything in using Paint. Now we can have complete Build Sheets.

Drooling yet?

Sure. Once I'm properly awake, I might try modding the program a bit to see if it'll work with English Text in place of Japanese. Now that I know what I'm looking for, should be a piece of cake. On an interesting side note, I was digging around in the HC Cosmo/Luce catalogs and found that the 13B Turbo version's ECU/EC-AT Control Unit's part number prefix is N336/N337. This means it is a revised version of the North American N333 ECU (Series 4 Turbo), but one number before the S4 Convertible (N338). Since this is the case, it implies a Turbo automatic FC was in the works for North America too. Otherwise, they would have used the existing N319 ECU and EC-AT Control Units from the Japanese FC.

So yeah, Pandora's Box is now wide open...

Unfortunately, your car is NOT an Infini II. It is an Infini 1, which is damn near unbelievable. Now you HAVE TO get pictures, and LOTS of them...

FD5 Grey interior and STV Seats, plus an early 1987 build date. Infini II began on October 1, 1987, so all prior Infini models were Infini 1's.

So yeah, grab your camera and get pictures. I wanna see it.

its funny those screen shots really remind me of the old old Mazda EPC back in the 90's, its still the easiest to use, except it ran on OS2!

for funnies here is what you get now, i used the US 110845... looks similar, yes?

I'd also love to see pictures of the car!! You rarely get to see one floating around on the forum!

Yep, still here. Got a fuel leak to take care on my daily this weekend, if I can stop sneezing for more than an hour. Leaving a trail of 93 octane on the road is not a very fun thing to do.

We really need a sticky with info on the Infini I and II. The Japan-only cars are fascinating.
