Info on rebuilding a 13b engine

First of all i dont have a RX-7 yet. Im buying one of of my neighbor very soon. The car is the base model with 70,000 miles. I want to know when is it time to rebuild an engine? How long have your engines lastedd before u need to rebuild them? And if you have rebuilt an engine how much does it cost to get it done or how hard is it to do it your self? Thanks for all of the help

70,000 miles?&nbsp It's still a "teenager" yet!&nbsp NA engines should easily get 150k - 200k miles!

I have 131k on my 86 GXL and it is still running very very strong. Redline everyday, and your engine will keep itself in shape for at least another 70-80k miles.

Errr...redline? I don't particularly believe in redlineing but I drive around at 3k+ most of the time
