I have been trying to find info on the difference between these two cars. They look exactly the same to a novice, with the exception of the sunroof. I have been trying to find the difference, but because the Infini was never sent to America, the information is hard to find. Could someone please tell me the difference.

Inifni IV version produces 215hp

I'm guessing your curious of infini 3 because of initial d?

 

The Inifini has 10 more HP, an aluminum hood, no rear seats (the normal Japanese turbo does), black or dark green paint (usually dark green I think), a Mazdaspeed steering wheel and other leather bits, fixed buckets seats, little knee pads for the driver, and I think it's generally stripped down (ie, no radio, although it's an option), plus it has a tweaked suspension (plus more aluminum bits?).

 

How does the engine acheive the extra ten hp? leaner fuel curve, better exhaust? higher rpm? what gives?

 

I think they fiddled with the ECU a bit... probably just a little bit of extra boost.

 

It had a better flowing exhaust.

But call me out if I'm wrong, I read it some time ago.


There quite amount of difference in things, but they are minor

 

i read a post on teamfc3s iirc where somebody was working on there infini (name escapes me atm) and noticed the ecu part# was the same as the tii of that year

the infini 3 was black or white the ver 4 was dark green, engines the same (ps is a little diff though), exhaust is the only dif that gives more hp. infini has no sunroof, pretty much an ultra race package, mazdaspeed shifter, and I belive the wheel is momo the horn has the infini logo on it, the seats are racing seats and lighter than other 7 seats, the sound deadening material is also lighter, wheels look sexy form stock. some say that the window motors are from a vert to save weight but thats not true. it has a factory fron strut bar and padding on the driver door and center console side for your legs under hard cornering.black interior but no leather, thats all i can remember for now but i prob forgto something
