Indiglo gauge installaion question
I've made the plunge and purchased a set of these gauges, now I have a question about installation.
They are flexible, but only to a point as I would not want to break the circuitry on the back of each panel ( there are 4). They might be able to slip over the needle...
My first question is about the needles on a S5, do they come off and go back easily?
Second question, is about the plastic shield on the cluster, can it be removed and re-installed?
Anybody with first hand experience, I would like to hear from you

i installed them on my car and I did not have to take off the needles. I could slip the gauges though the needles. When you take off the plastic facing be very careful one or two of the screws are hard to find. Just take it slow and you should be alright.

Don't try to slip them over the needles. Remove them. Most of the guages come off easily, but getting them on is difficult. The tach and speedo can be taken off with brute force (pry up on two sides evenly). The voltmeter/boost guage can also be remove this way. The water temp and oil pressure are more annoying as you must remove the rod and make sure to reassemble then mechanism properly. Do 1 at a time and work slowly. Otherwise, the guage will never work the same again.
Yes, the plastic bezel comes right off.

why not it worked for me, it was very easy. when you remove the needle there is no way to tell if you are putting them back in the same exact place, therefore, your gauges will be off. I seen it happen to plenty of people. Why not slip them over if you can?

DO NOT REMOVE THE NEEDLES!!!!!!! You will never be able to get them back on at least I didn't. I had to buy a hole new guage cluster just ask cory simpson on this forum. Just slip the guages over your original face guages, it works well and actually if you look on fc3s.org thats how they are supposed to be installed. once again DO NOT REMOVE THE NEEDLES!!!!!!! lol!

ps. the problem with putting them back on is that there is a little plastic peice that comes off of the needles behind the original face guages that are almost imposible to get back on. I would have said imposible but aaron cake said he did witch means he is either very patiant or very **** or maybe a little of both. Sorry aaron I guess your just good like that Anyways you get the point hopefully by now. lol
