Increased oil feed on S4 MOP?
Has anyone tried to increase the amount of oil injected by the adjustment on the mechanical MOP? (you can add a couple of washers to the connecting rod, so pumps more or less oil in based on throttle position).
Anyone see any reason why slightly increaseing the flow would be a bad thing?

Bad? Naa.
I think ultimately the flow is controlled by the engine speed vs the throttle position. It could only go so high, and I dont *remember* there being that much play in OMP linkage that a few washers would make a difference though.

On the S4 the linkage (which is controlled by throttle position) is what actually increases or decreases the flow, engine speed after 2000 RPM really has nothing to do with it as oil pressure is constant at that point. Now an S5 MOP is a whole different beast and is controlled by the ECU and its ideal based on engine speed and Throttle position.
But this is for the S4 MOP
The factory adjustment for too much flow or too little is to add or subract washers on the linkage to increase or decrease the amount.

I've added two more washers to mine and haven't had any problems yet. I believe they usually come with two, I just found another two from a spare omp I had and added them on.

On my 3rd gen upper intake conversion I made the take-off lever for the S4 OMP w/ several holes along its length so I could adjust the OMP travel. The take-off lever is attached to the 2ndary throttle plate shaft and a Lokar SS cable down to the OMP. I will look for a pic...
Anyways, using a cable instead of the sloppy stock rod allows for much more OMP lever travel and precision between throttle points- as well as the adjustability factor.
EDIT-
This is the best I could find, it is a little far away. You can see it is the cable comming off the TB and going down to the left following the line of the UIM
