Important question on Block-off Plates?

I'v been doing a little research on block-off plates and havent come up with much but could n e one really in detail tell me What the do and n e real preformace? Like for example i want to take my air pump off right and i have a main pipe so that air supply hose is useless too so i can take the air control valve off for emissions i know how to do it but when i put the block off plate what do i do with the little hoses and pressure sensor ect., and same thing with the other block off plates.. this would be extremly helpful. thanx much

i dont think they do really anything for performance, but they get rid of crap in your engine bay that you dont need. im pretty sure you just cap the hoses, but i dont know what you do with the pressure sensor.

with the exception of the s5's lose their aux port activation, which would have to be worked around after removal of the air pump

block off plates purpose is to replace removed useless emmisions components to simplify the engine bay. Performance wise they probably don't do a thing. For maintenance though it is nice, it gives more room to work, and less components to break.

If you have the stock ecu, you need the pressure sensor hooked up. Just leave the vacuum line that runs to it connected. Block off the ACV and cap its lines. Remove the air pump and cat. Do not do this if you are leaving you cat in. It will clog very fast and cause undue back pressure and a world of crap on your turbo.
