I'm New but I have an FC Convertible

Hey guys, I'm Justin, and I joined the boards a while back, because a friend of mine had an 88 RX-7 convertible given to him by a friend of his. When we got it home, we decided that the engine was carbon locked. Needed alot of other misc. TLC before she would run again. So, he parked it next to his garage, and was looking to sell it, because he is going into the Army shortly, and his parents wanted it gone. I told my dad about the deal, and he bought it, for 100 bucks. It's an 88 FC Convertible, Silver, with every package option. This car has everything but the kitchen sink, LOL. My dad took the old engine out, and ordered a new one from Atkins Rotary with the Optional Port Job. We got it a few weeks ago, and installed it. Car runs and drives great, with the exception of the idle is messed up (I think the TPS is outa wack). I was just wondering, how many other Silver Convertibles are out there. The guy from Atkins said they didn't make many Silver convertibles. I am not sure of his accuracy, so I thought I would just throw that out there. I live in Akron, NY, which is near Buffalo. Just saying hi, and will probably be on here a bit more, as we drive the car more and see what needs to be fine-tweaked. Pictures soon!

Justin

I'm not sure if the A/C affects the idle. I'm not even sure if the A/C even works, lol

*This thread is useless without pics*

on a side note, congrats and welcome to the large community of rotorheads, we hope we dont scare you off too soon, and do enjoy your convertible, though dont complain about its sluggishness, all verts are this way until you do a T2 swap into em. But again, welcome.

Silver convertibles were only available in 1988 and you don't see many.

Wow sounds liek a rare ride and a ported rebuilt one is pretty sweet. sounds liek you got a deal and a nice car. If you're single, cruise top down on a hot day and in that car you won't be single for long, unless you are a complete ***. Welcome to the forum and you have a killer car, I agree oon there needing to be more pics though.

Oh and if anyone is mean to you, they're just jealous that it cost you $100 (probably around $2500 w/ rebuild).
