im getting power lose/ possibly limp mode?

S5 TII

So my car has been running great for the past few weeks.. Til on my way home on the freeway, im just cruisin in 5th partial throttle, and decided to go wot to pass a car, but the power wasnt there, instead i am greated with no power and bucking/hesitation. Eventually I pull over.. Tried to move again and can only make it up to 25mph while hesitation under slow acceleration partial throttle.

Free revs and idle are great. I pop the hood and cant see anything visibly wrong, i check the pressure sensor line is ok, and the maf plug is ok. I must have stopped 3 times on the freeway til figuring out how to get home. I had to turn the car off, wait a minute, than turn it back on and slowly accelerate under partial throttle so it wouldnt hesitate and loose power. When id open up the throttle more, it would hesitate and loose power.. I guess its going into limp mode?

Any suggestions on what to check out? Any typical sensors to look at?

is the check engine light on?
if the s5 goes into limp mode, they will usually throw out a code.
Either it is in limp mode, or maybe the tps is bad. But you said it is fine in free reving, though that just means that it only happen during a load.

Do you still have the electronic omp?

Check the code and see whats happening.

if I remember right, there should be a single green connector near the leading coil.
You have to ground that out.
Turn the ignition on but dont start car.
The check engine light will blink and you have to count the pulses and compare it to the fsm.

its in the Fuel and emission turbo of the fsm, page f2-20

whats weird is my cel doesnt come on when i ground that green plug.. in fact it doesnt come on when i put the ingition in "on" at all. But it will pop one when i get it to do this problem. Im tryin to check for the code but the light doesnt come on..

im curious if my ecu could be going out.. ive also had a "partial throttle" hesitation for a few weeks as well.. https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ght=hesitation

ok i finally realized i was on the wrong contacts.

Ok so i got it adjusted to 1k ohm.. now, when i open up the throttle via tb, and go to up to WOT, i no longer get a ohm readout from those contacts... Think that could possibly be my problem? the tps is wacked out ?

at points a to b, im getting 1k
at e to d, i seem to be getting 1.48

you might have a dead spot on the tps sensor.
Is it only at wot that there is no reading?
is that on both tps?

Also, if you are getting 27, the ecu is definitly going into limp mode. Actually, any MOP code will make the ecu go into limp mode.

i checked all the omp readings and harness.. and the ecu connections. I reset the ecu disconnecting the neg terminal on the bat. Im going to test drive and see if it pops up again, Ill probably start pre mixing on the safe side til i know for sure what it is.

so the tps should have a readout all thru the throttle range correct? so its possible my tps is out. from my understanding is that the tps feeds the ecu which than operates the omp correct?

Id rather change out teh tps since i put a s4 waterpump jacket/pump on my s5 and id have to remove all of it just to get clearance to the s5 omp.

I drove around town today and all was good.. as long as i dont open up the throttle, i can drive around *yeah i know that sounds ghetto*, i have work tomarrow so i will have to drive it. Im pre mixing now was a saftey precaution.

so you are using an s5 ecu with an s4 front cover and OMP? do you still have the s5 OMP plugged in somewhere?
