Im Done With Rx7s.
I dont know what demon posessed my car this time, but this is the last straw. i cant have this car any longer. far to many issues to deal with. As of right now my car has been sitting in my parking lot for over a day with out me being able to put up my windows. but the windows arent the big problem im having. its the fact my car wont start now. Last night i was going to meet up with this super cute chic i met earlier but low and behiold my car dies out on me. i was just cruising along not messing with anything and the car just shut off. all the lights work but the car will not start. wont even turn over. nothing inside works ethier. no radio no idiot lights no nothing. i have checked everyfuse in the car. the are all fine. i even tore apart the actual ignition switch to no avail. everything seems fine. the only vauge sign of life is the fact my turbo timer says "off" for a millisecond when i turn the key to on but then goes blank. im stumped angry and broke. what do i do? No shops will work on my car here in boca. and the ones that will are less informed than myself. ive had fun over the years but its over. All i need is to get to school and work until i sell this thing please help out.

Its a electrical problem
your having
You need to take it to a electro mechanic
at first I thought your car was flooding
in which case you just have to reach under the dash
and pull the white plug till she cranks up and then put plug back in
take it to Japtrix

Buddy it sounds alot like your battery is dead.
Why don't your windows roll up? Not enough juice to power the motor?
Get a new battery, and if your SURE your window switches are dinked, take off both door panels, find the harness plug to the motor, (red and green wires to a plug) and take test leads from the battery and put them into the plug. Switch polarity for up or down - whichever you want. It will make them move faster than superman on laundry day (unless the window motors themselves are dinked as well).

whoa wait a minute, did it occur to you to check your battery? When looking for problems start very basic like the battery, check votage try putting another battery in etc. Get a multi meter and start testing. I mean if the car has absoulutly NOTHING turning on then it has to be your battery. Try jump starting it also i mean i cant be that bad my man.

thought of that already. i spent precious beer money last night on a Brand New Battery. Still the same effect. the battery is good. Its something else. I have to be a work tomorrow i have to get this thing to run,. My brake lights work, my headlights work and my doorlights work. Nothing else. I even tryed jumping my new battery in frustration. Still nothing

did you check the main fuses(box inside engine bay)
and the fuse box wire that attaches to + post?
Its not really RX7 related but a electrical problem
If I was to get upset with my car(s) everytime
it did something
I would of got out of RX7's 10 years ago
Usualy its something I did (or ware and tear usual for a 10+ year old car)
I can't blame them for the abuse I put them thru

well, considering none of your idiot lights come on (I'm assuming even if you pop the hatch no lights will come on) when you turn the key, or the e-brake light, or anything else, I'd say it's got more to do with your main ignition wiring than anything else. Are you positive your ignition switch works? Are you even getting power that far?

Hey bro relax. Mine did the same thing and I have been thru the same **** you are but I got a good bump from a friend saying check the ECU. He said the second gens aspecially 86-88 had bad codering done on them. Find a junk yard like I have and steal a few. If you are clueless on where it is located it's on the passenger side under a metal shield just as you pull the carpet back. I hope that works for you and if it doesn't... I'll buy the car off of you for your numbered offer. Kenn

There was no bad coding on 100,000+ cars using almost identical coding in every case.
Thats like saying the 13B was bad because it blows up if you run it without oil.
And your comment:
Find a junk yard like I have and steal a few.
Man didn't you get any morals installed in you as you were growing up or are you just trying to show off and think stealing things looks cool???

I agree it could be ECU related, they often have cold solder joints in them. That or a corroded ground could cause your exact problems-

yes check the ECU
I have seem this before also
in a early FC and the ECU was changed
and the car started up
I have a NA one I would give you for free
but you have a TII
even tho it would start the car with a NA ecu
it would not be safe to drive
